The Todd Wolfe Band Return To Godfrey Daniel’s!
Todd Wolfe and his band bring their “bluesadelic” sounds to Godfrey Daniel’s. The last appearance at Godfrey Daniel’s, Todd brought along friends Mary Hawkins, Sarah Ayers and Peter Karp and looks like some of those very friends will be returning this time including special guests, The Spuds!
The Todd Wolfe Band recall the days when “men were men and amps were amps”, real tubes crackling with a bluesadelic sound reminiscent of the best rock and roll bands of the 60′s! This band jams and rocks but their music is deeply soaked in blues. They have established themselves as one of the top POWER TRIOS in America by relentless touring and spreading their legend from coast to coast and beyond. Guitarist/singer Todd Wolfe’s music is deeply rooted in the blues origins of artists such as B.B. King, Freddie King, Otis Rush and Buddy Guy, but amped up to 10 with an energy level that recalls guitar superstars like Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter and Eric Clapton.
Todd received much praise for his guitar playing while spending nearly five years as lead guitarist for Sheryl Crow. Now, with his own band and releasing his new DVD and seventh CD, the critics have been paying attention. Blues Revue said of The Todd Wolfe Band, “Their sound recalls bands like Gov’t Mule and Cream .” And Hittin’ the Note magazine described the band thusly: “Imagine some power trio mixed into a Texas blues foundation and overlaid with trippy psychedelia – that’s the essence of Wolfe’s music.” Todd’s newest release also shines a spotlight on Wolfe’s extraordinary songwriting, which while true to its influences, carves its own path as original and powerful.
