Quintessential Texas blues rocker DELBERT McCLINTON brings his legendary sound to the Keswick Theatre Sat., May 22 in support of his new album, Acquired Taste. Opening the concert will be very special guest JAMES McMURTRY in a celebration of the roots of American music.

Acquired Taste, produced by Grammy-winning producer Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt), is DELBERT’s first new album in four years and thirteenth overall. The reflective lyrics provide one of the wisest and most introspective albums of the Texas roots legend’s career over a juke joint blend of country soul, infused with blues, rock and jazz.

With a career spanning over five decades, DELBERT has known few genre boundaries with threads of country, rock, pop soul, folk and jazz abounding. He received his musical education playing harmonica with The Straightjackets, the house band at a local R&B club backing artists such as Jimmy Reed, Howlin’ Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson. He was first known for his outstanding harmonica skills and reportedly gave John Lennon a few lessons in the early 60’s. One of DELBERT’s notable credits is the creation of the harmonica riff heard on Bruce Channel’s 1962 No. 1 hit “Hey! Baby”, recorded in his native Ft. Worth, TX.

Fellow Texan and singer-songwriter JAMES McMURTRY tours in support of his latest release, Just Us Kids. McMURTRY’s previous release, 2005’s Childish Things, spent six weeks at No. 1 on R&R’s American Music Radio Chart. It also racked up nods for both Best Song and Best Album form the 5th Annual American Music Association Honors and Awards. The Texas native long has been known as an astute, clear-eyed observer and concise, no-holds barred chronicler of the human condition. Noted author Stephen King cited McMURTRY as “the truest, fiercest songwriter of his generation”.

Tickets are $36 and can be ordered online @ www.keswicktheatre.com, via Phone-Charge (215-572-7650), in person at the Keswick box office Mon. through Sat. and all Ticketmaster outlets.
