Jason Shaffer – Full Tilt Productions – Ready to take you over the TOP
Intrigued by the entire process of music – the PA Music Scene.com and Lambert Promotions contacted Owner/Engineer/Producer Jason Shaffer of Full Tilt Productions.
Jason is a native of Pennsylvania having been raised in Lancaster County. After graduating high school, he attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Full Sail is composed of 110 studio and productions environments including live venues, sound stages, recording studios, editing facilities, and dubbing stages just to mention a few. He received comprehensive instruction on today‘s most state-of-the-art equipment.
Most recently with the assistance of Craig Cady, Jason designed a studio and it was built on the ground floor of the Shaffer residence known as Full Tilt Productions. Having his own studio makes him very happy because it gives him freedom and it is easy for him to get lostin the studio doing what he loves. With determination, direction and a plan for his creativity, Jason gives you that confident vibe the moment you engage with him. He gives a client’s project the personal touch and he develops a camaraderie. He wants to know what YOU are thinking as an artist so he can help accomplish your dream for your music.Full Tilt Productions cares more about the quality than the quantity. Jason is inspired with each project. “The music should challenge me as an engineer and as a producer along with challenging the musicians. When I am working on a project with a client… I live, eat and sleep their record. I never really feel like I am going to work when I go into the studio. The final product is the most rewarding feeling. Everyone is so excited reaching a goal as a group.“ said Jason.
Being an audio engineer is about the technical and creative aspects of audio… a manipulator of sound. In today’s world that also means having the understanding of how software works because this is a digital age. Jason works with ProTools and is very comfortable with the program. His work is more organic vs. formal with a range of pricing to fit a musician’s budget needs. Jason is also a “traveling studio.” One of the most interesting places studio-will-travel went to was a camping experience. A client wanted the sounds of nature i.e., crickets and sounds which the night brings.
As a music producer at Full Tilt Productions, Jason is responsible for all stages of development. It is essential that the producer multi-task and bring ideas into the recording session. It’s all about having a good ear, making creativity come alive and having a marketable finished product. Good or bad the finished audio product is a direct reflection on him. A music producer – produces which means he is working with the artist, studio musicians and all related staff. He is responsible for keeping all those involved on a reasonable emotion level. Jason must use his instincts of knowing how hard to push a musician and when to back off and let things happen. He has a core of studio musicians who are at his disposable to assist with any product. Diversity in style and genres is a quality you will find. Working with various artists is in itself, telltale of the freedom musicians feel while at Full Tilt Productions.Artists that Jason has worked with include (but not limited to): Nate Myers & The Aces, Royal Benson, Jordan M. Coulson, Nathan Vesecco, Meagan Davies, Mike Falk, Ton-Taun, The Kilmaine Saints, McCall Tucker, Emily’s Toybox, Acoustic Stew, Alicia Keister, Seldon, Dave Mallon, Grantham Road…
Jason is also a well known musician. He is a professional guitarist/bassist. He played with Grantham Road. He is a current member of Giants of Despair (G.O.D.) with three upcoming shows. Jason is also playing bass with Hybrid Ice since June of 2009. He is available to play live gigs or to perform on recording projects. Call 717-648-0633 for details.
”I first met Jason several years ago while I was at a Nate Myers and The Aces gig. Nate Myers and The Aces had hired Jason to record the band’s performances over a several month period, while they performed live. Several times I found myself needing professional advise with respects to the music industry. It was during those times that I would draw upon Jason’s experience in the music business. I found him to be open, warm, friendly, as he generously and graciously answered all of my questions. I would recommend Jason as a producer to any of my musician friends. I saw how knowledgeable Jason is of the music industry, and just as important, how he treats the people who come to him with questions and concerns, seeking wisdom and advice.”
Terry Selders – Susquehanna Entertainment:
“Jason is a rare talent. He has a great work ethic, knows the gear, gets things done and has a great ear to boot. He literally saved my Christmas CD a couple years ago. I’ve watched how he is like a sponge, learning all he can from the people around him and then applying that knowledge tastefully. He has my highest recommendation.”
Bret Alexander – Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist for the Badlees, Owner/Producer Saturation Acres:
Marc Levin – Entertainment Lawyer
”I haven’t directly ‘worked with’ Jason at all but I did refer a person to him with a “very difficult” recording project. Jason was very patient and conscientious with the client and in the end, helped produce the best recording possible. Better than I ever thought possible, given the circumstances. He is the consummate professional, a talented musician and just as important, a heck of a nice guy.”
