The opening track “Forsaken” really took me back. I am surprised that I enjoyed a minor tonality pop song so much. The overall production on the CD is crisp, clean and focused.
The lead vocalist has an earthy tonality to his voice that wavers and grooves in a very mature way. His melody lines are original and interesting, which is a great trait to have in your song writing arsenal.
Track 2 on the CD “Valkyrie” has an island/Jimmy Buffet groove to it that feels a bit out of place following the more subdued opening track. “The Call To Arms” has a slight Beatles kick to it with their own twist…(see “I Saw Her Standing There”).
Each song on “No Apologies” has an interesting feel, but I’m lost in the overall cohesiveness of the project, not that this is a bad thing; sometimes mixed feelings are the best to have.
