MATT OTIS: HOME FROM HOME
Matt Otis hails from Bedford, Pa. The E.P. has 6 songs on it. He has quite a few videos that you find on YouTube. He’s very laid back in his songs and he finds strength in his voice which is distinctive to say the least. Matt’s back-up is made up of Jim Grassi on bass and Patrick Black on drums holds the songs together well.
“HOME FROM HOME” - the title track is sung from the heart and it projects what he feels about home. “1984″ throws you off a bit because it seems off beat and the double timing is a little too strong at some places but when they get into the groove… it flows well.
“UNKNOWN TRUTHS” has a nice intro and it flows well. This is where Matt does justice to himself as he lets down his guard to really find himself and shows you what he’s really made of. I think it would great if Matt had someone to do harmonies with on some of the songs to add a different taste.
Check him out on Myspace and try to get his EP. Let him know your thoughts. Nice job Matt… making Bedford, Pa proud.
Enjoy,
Jim
