The Kilmaine Saints: The Good, The Plaid and The Ugly

The Kilmaine Saints: The Good, The Plaid and The Ugly

Review by Jim Allford
PA Music Scene
December 2010

The Kilmaine Saints are based out of Harrisburg, Pa. This 12 song CD is defintely Irish-based music which some rockin’ edges to it. This band is made up of 8 members and they all know their part to a “T”. They put themself in the punk music genre for some reason, but it’s more pure Irish rock to me. I feel they just rock and the do it well and fiddles are really a stand out.

” The Saints Are Up” is the second cut on the CD and it will have you sucked into in no time. “Whiskey In A Jar” is a well-known song and they really do the song justice. You can’t help but sing along with it. “Gold and Guns Will Get The Job Done” has an intro using the flutes and then the fiddles come in to do interludes along with the flutes. Great song and one of the highlights on the cd.

“Casey’s Swagger” will have you bouncing and dancing to the song in no time. I must admit, this would be the type of Irish band that could go on tour with the best. They should meet up with The Mudmen from Canada… they would both have a field day. I highly recommend the CD for some of you Irish rockers or punkers out there, but anyone could love this CD and the band.

Let them know I sent you. Keep rockin’
