February 2011

Hailing from Nazareth, PA, these talented musicians have “big time” written all over them. Fronted by American Idol finalist Tyler Grady, Travis Hobbie on guitar and vox, Joe Demarco on keys, guitar and vox, Josh Zullo on bass and Dru Underwood on percussion and vox, they blend dynamic modern rock with classic rock overtones to create a unique sound all their own. Now touring thru the Greater Northeast and booked thru Media V Entertainment, they are captivating audiences wherever they play. Wailing Waters won for “Best New Artist” at the 2010 Lehigh Valley Music Awards and Lead Vocalist Tyler Grady won for “Best Male Performer” & “Best All-Around Entertainer”.

Their EP reflects their influences which range from The Beatles to Bob Dylan to Neil Young in a manner that is refreshing. “Summer Rain” features Tyler’s strong and deep vocals that is well performed and composed. The harmonies are spot on and the instrumentation fits like a glove. This is my pick for the best song on the CD and has single possibilities. “Runaround Rodeo” has a strong presence with a nice hook that offers the players individual talents to shine. “No Mistake” features the guitar work of Travis Hobbie in the intro that just explodes into main body. The tempo changes and hooks are awesome and give this track energy and feeling all at the same time.

This is the start of what can become the next name band to emerge from the Lehigh Valley as a national act. Their style and presentation is infectious and is a strong point for Tyler Grady and Wailing Waters. Their precise blending of instrumentation culminates in sounds that are clean and refreshing to listen to. I give this EP 2 THUMBS UP!
